What makes Cosmetic Laser Sydney different?
Cosmetic Laser Sydney is a doctor-operated laser clinic with over 20 years of experience in cosmetic and dermatological laser treatments.
Unlike many clinics where treatments may be performed by multiple operators, all consultations and laser procedures are personally performed by Dr Peter Kim.
With more than 10,000 laser treatments performed, our focus is on accurate diagnosis, patient safety and achieving the best possible cosmetic outcome.
Why do many patients choose Dr Peter Kim for Asian and ethnic skin?
Asian and ethnic skin types can be more sensitive to laser treatment and may carry a higher risk of pigmentation changes if not treated appropriately.
Dr Peter Kim has extensive experience treating Caucasian, Asian and ethnic skin types and carefully adjusts treatment protocols according to each patient’s skin characteristics.
This experience helps improve safety and optimise treatment outcomes.
Do you treat all skin types?
Yes.
We routinely treat Caucasian, Asian and ethnic skin types.
Every patient receives an individual assessment and treatment plan tailored to their skin type and condition.
Why don’t some clinics treat Asian and ethnic skin types?
Asian and ethnic skin types often contain higher levels of melanin (pigment), which can make laser treatment more challenging.
When inappropriate laser settings are used, there may be a higher risk of complications such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin), hypopigmentation (lightening of the skin), prolonged redness or uneven results.
For this reason, some clinics may choose not to treat certain skin types or may have limited experience treating them.
At Cosmetic Laser Sydney, Dr Peter Kim has over 20 years of experience treating Caucasian, Asian and ethnic skin types. Treatment settings are individually adjusted according to the patient’s skin type, condition and treatment goals to maximise safety and achieve the best possible outcome.
What conditions can be treated?
We commonly treat:
• Freckles
• Sunspots
• Melasma
• Seborrhoeic keratoses (age warts)
• Selected benign moles
• Xanthelasma
• Broken capillaries
• Facial redness
• Cherry angiomas

What are the costs of treatment?
Consultation Fees
Standard Consultation: $105
Long Consultation: $150
If treatment proceeds on the same day, the consultation fee is generally bulk billed through Medicare where applicable.
Treatment costs vary depending on the condition being treated, the size of the treatment area and the number of sessions required.
A personalised treatment plan and quotation will be provided during your consultation.
What are the risks of laser treatment?
Laser treatment is generally very safe when performed by an experienced operator. However, all medical procedures carry potential risks.
Possible complications may include:
• Temporary redness and swelling
• Pigmentation changes
• Bruising
• Blistering (rare)
• Infection (rare)
• Scarring (rare)
• Recurrence of the condition
These risks are discussed during consultation and vary depending on the condition being treated and the individual’s skin type.
Why are all treatments performed by Dr Peter Kim?
At Cosmetic Laser Sydney, every consultation and laser procedure is personally performed by Dr Peter Kim.
This provides continuity of care, consistency of treatment and direct medical oversight throughout your treatment journey.
Patients know exactly who will be performing their treatment from the initial consultation through to follow-up care.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on the condition being treated.
Some lesions may respond after a single treatment, while conditions such as melasma, pigmentation disorders, acne scarring and certain birthmarks often require multiple sessions.
Expected treatment numbers will be discussed during consultation.
