Where Can Laser Mole Removal Be Performed?

Laser mole removal can be performed on many areas of the body, provided the mole is suitable for laser treatment. Every mole is first carefully assessed by Dr Peter Kim to determine whether laser treatment is appropriate.

Below are some of the common areas where laser mole removal is performed.

Eyelid Mole Removal

Moles on the eyelids require careful treatment because of their close proximity to the eye. Local anaesthetic eye drops, specialised corneal eye shields and precision CO₂ laser techniques are used to maximise safety.

Which Moles Cannot Be Treated With Laser?

Not every mole is suitable for laser treatment.

Suspicious lesions or moles with features suggestive of skin cancer may require biopsy or surgical removal rather than cosmetic laser treatment.

Every mole is carefully assessed before treatment.

This patient presented requesting laser mole removal for what appeared to be a mole. Following careful assessment, Dr Peter Kim determined that the lesion was suspicious for skin cancer rather than a benign mole.
Laser treatment was not performed. Instead, the lesion was surgically removed and sent for histopathological examination, which confirmed the diagnosis of skin cancer.
This case highlights the importance of having every pigmented lesion carefully assessed before considering cosmetic laser treatment. Not all “moles” are benign, and suspicious lesions should never be treated with laser alone.
